DISH WASHER AND CONTROLLING METHOD OF THE SAME

A dish washer and a control method of the same are provided to correctly judge the steam volume in the tub and improve the control effect of each stroke by containing the light emitting and receiving units at the steam sensing unit. A dish washer comprises: a tub(18) whose one surface is opened to receive dishes; a door(2) for opening and closing the opened surface of the tub; a steam generator(20) for generating the steam; connection pipe lines(22,23) communicating the discharge side of the steam generator and the inside of the tub; and a steam sensing unit for sensing the condition of the steam supplied in the tub. The steam generator contains a light emitting unit for emitting light; and a light receiving unit(26) for receiving the light and judging the steam concentration of the tub according to strength of the received light.
