A destination searching method of a navigation system is provided to let drivers find out the position of a street number corresponding to the destination by searching a link corresponding to the street number of the destination by comparing a street number format and the range and system of the street number, and estimating the position of the street number in the corresponding link. A destination searching method of a navigation system includes the steps of: inputting the starting place and destination of a vehicle by a control unit if a travel route search command is input from a command input unit, loading map data stored in a map data storage unit and then selecting links of the road name input as the destination(200,202,204,206); judging whether the street number format of the selected link corresponds to the street number format input as the destination, the destination street number is included in a range of the street number of the link, and the system of the street number of the link corresponds to the system of the destination street number or not(208~216,218~224,226~228); and estimating the relative position of the destination street number in the corresponding link if the link corresponds with the street number format of the destination, the destination street number is included in a range of the street number of the link, and the street number systems of the link and the destination correspond to each other(230,232).
