A plasma display panel is provided to increase a discharge space and space charges formed in the discharge space by forming electrodes for surrounding discharge cells. A first and second substrates(10,20) are disposed opposite to each other. A plurality of discharge cells(18) are disposed in a space between the first and second substrates. A plurality of first electrodes(12) are formed in one direction on the first substrate. A plurality of second electrodes(31) are formed across the first electrodes in order to surround the discharge cells in the space between the first and second substrates. A plurality of third electrodes(32) are separated vertically to the second electrodes in the space between the first and second substrates in order to surround the discharge cells and to be extended across the first electrodes. A plurality of phosphor layer reception parts(22) is formed on one side of the second substrate. Two phosphor layer reception parts correspond to each of the discharge cells. A phosphor layer(29) is formed within each of the phosphor layer reception parts.
