METHOD FOT CONTROLLING OPERATION OF A MULTI AIR CONDITIONER SYSTEM

A method of detecting malfunction of a multi air conditioner system is provided to check variation of a sensor value installed at each indoor unit, thereby reliably detecting malfunction of each indoor unit. A method of detecting malfunction of a multi air conditioner system includes the steps of detecting an output value of a sensor installed at each indoor unit to calculate variation of a sensor output value(S130), and comparing the variation of the sensor output value to determine malfunction of the indoor unit sensor when the variation of the sensor output value is not in a reference range(S190). The sensor is one of an indoor unit heat exchanger inlet temperature sensor, an indoor unit heat exchanger outlet temperature sensor, and an indoor temperature sensor installed at each indoor unit.
