THE SCANNING DEVICE WHICH SUPPORTS VOICE EXTENSIBLE MARKUP LANGUAGE AND THE METHOD OF OUTPUTTING SOUND USING IT

A scanning device supporting VXML(Voice eXtensible Markup Language) and a voice output method using the same are provided to facilitate movement and management of scanning data by recognizing only the characters from the scanning data, converting the characters into a VXML file, and storing the VXML file. A scanning part(10) generates image data. An OCR(Optical Character Recognition) engine(20) recognizes only the characters from the generated image data and outputs the recognized characters. The first storing part(40) stores multiple voice output values respectively matched with multiple voice types as a lookup table form. A VXML encoder(30) generates the digital VXML file by encoding the characters received from the OCR engine to the specific voice type according to one preset voice output value among the voice output values. A voice signal converter(70) converts the generated VXML file into a voice signal and outputs the voice signal in case that a voice output function is set.
