A monitoring circuit is characterized by preventing malfunction of a microcomputer comprising a capacitor, charging means for charging the capacitor, discharging means for discharging the capacitor, voltage comparing means for generating a signal for resetting the operation of an object being monitored by comparing the voltage of the charged capacitor with a constant reference voltage when the capacitor is charged and its voltage becomes higher than a predetermined voltage, power supply voltage judging means for monitoring the power supply voltage and resetting the operation of the object when the power supply voltage being monitored becomes lower than a predetermined value.
