A device and a method for processing images are provided to enable a user to form the image with desired colors by increasing or decreasing a color ratio set in a color setting part, and efficiently use cartridges. The color setting part(130) displays more than one selectable color corresponding to multiple pixels forming a color image to be formed and receives user selection for the selectable colors displayed to a display part(110) through an input part(120). An image processor(140) performs an image process by increasing or decreasing the color ratio set in the color setting part for all colors of the printed image. The color setting part receives the user-defined color ratio for all colors of the printed image from the user through the input part. The color setting part receives toner remaining information from the image forming device and displays remaining toner to the display part. The color setting part previews the printed image processed in the image processor to the display part.
