An image synthesis method using a DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) picture in a mobile communication terminal and the mobile communication terminal for embodying the same are provided to interwork with the DMB picture and synthesize a photo by capturing the DMB picture, extracting an object which exists in a photographed photo, and synthesizing the extracted object in the DMB picture. A DMB receiving unit(110) receives a DMB signal. A camera unit(170) reads an object, and processes the object as an image. A capture unit(180) captures a received DMB picture. A memory unit(140) temporarily stores the DMB picture captured through the capture unit(180) in a buffer. A control unit(150) extracts the object to be synthesized from the photo photographed by using the camera unit(170). If a position of the object to be synthesized to the DMB picture captured through the capture unit(180) is designated from a user, the control unit(150) synthesizes the extracted object to the designated position of the captured picture.
