A method for hosting a web server for tracking a file link is provided to automatically connect to a changed path and block an illegal link by connecting to a log storing file record before a file is connected and connecting to the path stored in the log in case that a connection condition set in the log is agreed. Setting and the log stored in a statistics database server are checked(S210). Connection is permitted by determining whether a request signal for requesting the connection is connectable or not according to the setting stored in the statistics database server. If the connection condition is not satisfied, contents for the unsatisfied conditions are transmitted as an error message following an HTTP(HyperText Transfer Protocol)(S230). If authentication is completed, the file is connected by searching a directory storing the file(S240). The connected file is transmitted to a user(S250). Information for file transfer is updated to the log stored in the statistics database server(S260).
