A female terminal and an electric connector using the same are provided to have fitting members formed by bending a metal plate. A female terminal(1) includes a fitting member(1) with a square box shape. The fitting member is formed by bending a metal plate. A contact elastic member(18) is arranged within the fitting member. A wire connection member(4) is continuously formed from the fitting member. An opposite mail terminal is inserted into the fitting member, contacted with the elastic member in order to be electrically contacted. The ends of the metal plate for forming the female terminals are combined with a surface along the displacement direction of the contact elastic member and not separated.
