A washing method is provided to elevate the washing performance of the laundry by generating/supplying the steam, and prevent the cloth from being damaged due to the hot steam by using the small amount of washing water before supplying the steam and getting the cloth wet. A washing method comprises a first water supply step(S110) of supplying the washing water to the lower part of the out tub; a cloth-wetting step(S120) of operating the cloth-wetting of the laundry in the laundry by rotating the drum; a second water supply step(S140) of supplying the water in the out tub again; and a steam providing step(S170) of evaporating the washing water in the out tub and generating the steam. The washing water covers the lower surface of the drum at the first water supply step. The second water supply step contains a step(S130) of checking the level of the washing water in the out tub.
