The method involves compressing an elongated spiral spring and passing a signal through it. The spring includes an intermediate portion (12) and two end portions (11, 11`) that are connected to a signal transmission starting terminal. Two funnel-shaped connecting portions (111) are connected between the intermediate portion and the end portions. An independent claim is also included for the probe used in this method, the number of spring coils in the end portions being larger than in the intermediate portion.
