A selecting lever knob structure of an automatic transmission is provided to improve working convenience by mounting a cover on a knob of a selecting lever in a one-touch method and to enhance design freeness of the cover. A selecting lever knob structure of an automatic transmission comprises an insert(20) connected with a step-gate type automatic transmission; a housing(10) installed to surround the insert; a cover(30) mounted on one side of the housing; and a skirt(40) inserted/fixed at the lower side of the insert. The insert is formed with plural insertion units(25) on one side of an insert body(21) shaped as a curved bar to be gripped by a driver's hand; and a fixed hanging sill(28) elongated downward on the lower end of the insertion unit. The housing is formed with a cover mounting groove(12) formed on one side of the housing body; and plural mounting holes on the bottom surface of the cover mounting groove to mount the insertion unit of the insert. The cover is formed with plural fixing units on the inner surface of a cover body(31) inserted into the cover mounting groove to be fitted/fixed into the insertion unit of the insert. The skirt is formed with a hanging groove to hold/combine the fixed hanging sill of the insert.
