Permanent magnets are arranged at the center of poles mounted along a rim through jack stays that define an air gap between the poles and rim. The permanent magnets have a parallelepiped configuration and may be radially arranged between two adjoining poles such that the axial length of the permanent magnets corresponds to the length of the poles. The length in the radial direction and the thickness of the permanent magnets are configured such that the passage of magnetic flux causes the required induction.
