In a conveyer of the kind consisting of two series of intermeshing bars which are vertically and horizontally movable with respect to each other, the bars of each series are secured frictionally to their supports by clamping mechanism. Each bar 1 has a lug 6 welded to its underside which is cut away at 7 to rest on a pair of angle-irons 2 and has a part depending into the space 4 between them. A series of cut-out, or stamped-out, plates 8 have upper projections 9 which rest on rails 5 secured to the edge of each angle-bar and lower projections 10 which take below them. A number of plates 8 are inserted between each pair of lugs 6 and are forced together by pressure applied to a block 13 by a screw 12 mounted in a fixed block 11. |
