<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device useful when a display of the information terminal cannot be seen or convenient for elderly people with decreased vision, which can read aloud predetermined information of text sentence in an E-mail or browser or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A DSP3a uses a downloaded voice reading program to read aloud a text sentence. A sound source LSI9 with embedded ADPCM function uses registered vocabularies to voice-output key number reading during key operation. The DSP3a also uses a downloaded voice codec program to function as a voice codec during phone conversation.
