The rod has a tubular connecting body (1) between two bores (4) with parallel axes, where each bore is arranged in a cylindrical insert (3) disposed in a hole (2`) that is provided in the body. An axis of the hole is parallel to an axis of the bore. The bores receive, in operation, an axle of a control mechanism of a turbocharger of an internal combustion engine. The insert is sulphidized or carburized so that an inner wall of the bore has a hardness greater than 700 HV on a thickness comprised between 20 and 40 micrometer.
