To clad the edges of boards (1), for use in furniture, after glue has been applied to the first edge strip (7) a barrier agent is applied to the corners (4) of previously laid and glued edge strips (2) on the board at right angles to the sides. The barrier agent is applied by spray jets (5) to both end corners of the laid edge strips simultaneously.
