A method for securing continuous reproduction through a reproduction time check in the reproduction of a disc-type recording medium is provided to return a current position to a previous position and reproduce the recording medium although a pickup is jumped by a state or a vibration of the disc-type recording medium by periodically monitoring a reproduction time while the recording medium is reproduced to remove the discontinuity of the reproduction according to impact and prevent the recognition of a user although the surface defect of the disc-type recording medium exists. A current reproduction time is set up as a previous reproduction time(S110). A timer is set up as a reference time(S120). A disc-type recording medium is reproduced, and the current reproduction time is updated(S130). When the updated current reproduction time is the same as or smaller than the previous reproduction time after the reference time elapses or the current reproduction time is greater than a comparison reference time in comparison with the previous reproduction time, the reproduction of the disc-type recording medium is stopped and the reproduction is performed in a time when a movement reference time is added to the previous reproduction time(S140).
