摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device, of which the intensity level to be modulated, an irradiation period, etc., are easily changeable when the intensity level of a laser light (e.g. light beam for erase) outputted from a semiconductor laser is modulated. <P>SOLUTION: A current for erase composed of a single pulse and a reference control current are added during a predetermined period and ejected. Meanwhile, a current for erase composed of a plurality of pulses and the reference control current are added during a period other than the above period and ejected as multi-pulse beams, and by a means for producing the reference control current, the light intensity level of the single pulse beam detected by a detection means during the predetermined period is acquired as a specimen value, then a difference between this specimen value and an objective specimen value is calculated to produce the reference control current on the basis of this difference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
