<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for processing an XML and an XML-based markup language. <P>SOLUTION: This method and this system for storing an unknown markup in a strongly typed environment is explained. In one embodiment, an XML-based markup, which can include both of a known XML-based element and an unknown XML-based element, is received. A strongly typed tree associated with the known XML-based element is instantiated, while a weakly typed tree associated with both of the known XML-based element and the unknown XML-based element is instanced.
