<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the power of a charging rotatory body 2 to charge an image bearing member 1 over a prolonged period of time even if a toner and external additives stick to the charged rotating body 2, so that occurrence of image defects such as density unevenness and image deletion due to faulty charge is suppressed, in a cleanerless image forming apparatus in which a charging means for the image bearing member 1 is the charged rotating body 2 brought into contact with the image bearing member 1 and cleaning simultaneous with development is adopted. <P>SOLUTION: The charged rotating body 2 has been magnetized and a control means has a control mode of performing control by which a magnetic carrier in a developer is ejected from a developing means 4 onto the image bearing member 1 during rotation of the image bearing member 1 except rotation in image formation, so that the magnetic carrier is supplied to the charged rotating body 2 by the rotation of the image bearing member 1 and borne on a surface of the charged rotating body 2 by the magnetism of the charged rotating body 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
