<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attenuated virus of cucumber mosaic virus, which has excellent effects for controlling cucumber mosaic viruses of various plants (especially Korean red pepper kind), is not mutated into a high virulent virus, even when subinoculated, causes only extremely weakened viral symptoms, and holds a satellite RNA, to provide a cucumber mosaic virus-resistant plant using the attenuated virus, and to provide a method for controlling cucumber mosaic virus of Korean red pepper kind. <P>SOLUTION: This satellite RNA containing a specific base sequence. The attenuated virus of cucumber mosaic virus, prepared by incorporating the satellite RNA into the cucumber mosaic virus. The cucumber mosaic virus-resistant plant obtained by preliminarily inoculating a plant seedling with the attenuated virus.
