PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information collection system enabling notification of the occurrence of abnormality with high accuracy in regard to the degree of relaxation of an electric wire extended between concrete poles. SOLUTION: The information collection system includes an ultrasonic wave sensor for outputting a signal according to a distance to the ground, and a radio communication for transmitting the output information of the above ultrasonic sensor and the self-identification information. The information collection system further includes sensor nodes attached to the concrete poles; and a gateway server for collecting transmission information transmitted from the above sensor node, and transmitting the collected information to another communication network having a different communication protocol from the communication protocol for the sensor node concerned. Each sensor node constitutes a radio ad hoc network among sensor nodes mounted on other concrete poles existent within a communicable distance from the self-sensor node.
