<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect groundwater contaminated with VOC existing over a wide range by a smaller apparatus than conventional ones, shorten the time for cleaning and realize saving space by simplifying the cleaning apparatus on the ground as compared to conventional ones. <P>SOLUTION: A cylindrical building frame 1 having a bottom plate 1a served as an aeration vessel is constructed at the downstream side of groundwater flowing through the under ground of a site. A plurality of water collecting pipes 9 are driven from the sidewall part 1c of the building frame 1 toward a groundwater layer 17 in which VOC exists radially in a horizontal direction to be buried. The groundwater contaminated with VOC is collected to the building frame 1 through the water collecting pipes 9. After VOC is removed by aeration in the building frame, the treated water which has removed VOC is charged to a well 3 constructed at the upstream side of the site. By a water head difference between the water level of the well 3 and the water level in the building frame 1, the water of the well 3 is injected to the groundwater to make the water contaminated with VOC join to be collected to the building frame 1.
