PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging device enabling a packaged item to be packaged in a state of favorable appearance without using any container such as a tray and the like. SOLUTION: This packaging device comprises a packaged item transferring mechanism, a bag forming mechanism for forming a packaging film into a bag-shape, and a melting, adhering and cutting mechanism for heat melting and sealing the packaging film in a state that the packaged item is stored at a bag where the packaging film is formed into a bag shape. Then, the transferring mechanism comprises a receiving plate 22 on which a packaged item packaged with a packaging film is set when a first time packaging operation is carried out, and a holder 23 supported at the receiving plate 22 in such a way that it can be ascended or descended for holding the packaged item set at the receiving plate at an upper position where it is spaced apart from the receiving plate when the packaged item is transferred by the receiving plate and in turn moved to the lower position where it does not interfere with the packaged item when the packaged item is transferred from the state where it is fed into the bag together with the packaged item and the receiving plate to the bag.
