PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact socket which can rapidly perform the fastening operation of a bolt. SOLUTION: The impact socket 10 comprises a receiving recessed portion 16 which is opened at the lower end portion of a socket body 12 and has a truncated pyramid shape inside surface so as to be narrowed toward the upper inside of the socket body 12, a slider 18 which is slidably fitted in the receiving recessed portion 16 of the socket body 12 and has a truncated pyramid shape outside shape to be fitted into the inside surface of the receiving recessed portion 16, and an energizing member 32 for energizing the slider 18 toward the lower end opening portion of the receiving recessed portion 16. The slider 18 is divided into a plurality of slider elements 19. When the slider 18 has been pushed into the depth of the receiving recessed portion 16 against the energizing force of the energizing member 32 and the slider elements 19 have been integrated together, a female screw hole 22 is formed inside the slider 18. On the contrary, when the slider 18 has been placed on the opening portion side of the receiving recessed portion 16 because of the energizing force of the energizing member 32, the slider elements 19 are released from the integrated state and the female screw hole 22 is enlarged.
