PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hole cutter which is for use in cutting or boring an existing fluid conduit, e.g. a water service pipe, and can positively recover chips produced during cutting. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the hole cutter, a gap in a lower edge of a cylinder body 3 is blocked, and an aperture communicating with the gap is formed in the vicinity of a blade portion of each cutting tip 4 which has a cutting edge 4a for producing chips during cutting, each having a size smaller than the width of the gap. Therefore the chips produced by cutting the conduit by means of each cutting tip 4 are lead from the aperture to be stored in a chip storage section 3a, and successively and repeatedly accumulated in it during rotating and feeding motion of the hole cutter 1. In this manner the chips are positively stored and recovered in the chip storage section concerned without being pressed to the apertures of the other cutting tips 4 and falling from them.
