PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crime prevention sensor improved in detection accuracy and facilitated in information processing by simultaneously acquiring distance information and size information, and miniaturized and advantageous in cost. SOLUTION: The crime prevention sensor comprises a distance image sensor capable of simultaneously measuring a distance to an object existing in a security area, and the size of the object, and a determining means for determining whether the object is an intruder by discriminating whether the object is larger or smaller than a human body. The distance image sensor is formed of a CMOS imaging element capable of measuring distance on all pixels of a distance image obtained by receiving reflected light of light projected from a light projecting means, by a light receiving means, and also removing background light.
