PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging roller using a seamless tube, where the difference of electrifying property is not found between the center part and the end of the roller, and which performs uniform electrification, thereby forming an excellent image with a small discharge amount. SOLUTION: The charging roller has at least a supporting member and a conductive covering member with which the supporting member is covered, and has crown shape where the diameter of the center part is larger than the diameter of the end. The conductive covering member is constituted of the seamless tube containing at least styrene thermoplastic elastomer and thermoplastic resin composed of a styrene copolymer having a polar functional group or thermoplastic elastomer, the crown amount (the difference of the diameter between the center part and the end of the charging roller) of the crown shape is within a range >0.0% and≤1.5% relative to the diameter of the center part.
