The method involves constantly keeping a pulse width modulation (PMW) basic ratio (PMW-GV) under consideration of symmetry from intensification and retraction of PMW ratios (PMW-SV). The ratios (PMW-SV) are controlled and regulated such that the ratios (PMW-SV) assigned to impulses are raised or lowered. The ratios (PMW-SV) assigned to intermediately lying impulses are separately adapted by adjusted gradation for the impulses.
