<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network switch and a back pressure control method that can realize communication of high quality without increasing the buffer size of an output buffer even in a state of connection to a high-speed network. <P>SOLUTION: An output buffer part 2230a transmits back pressure in two stages according to the use state of the output buffer. When the consumption of the output buffer exceeds a normal threshold, the back pressure is transmitted to in-side switch blades 2100a to 2100n as usual. In addition, when the consumption of the output buffer exceeds an emergency threshold, the back pressure is transmitted to input control parts 2210a to 2210n in a main switch part 2200. The input control parts 2210a to 2210n are at short distances to the output buffer part 2230a and have short delay times of the back pressure, so the output buffer part 2230a can avoid a buffer overflow with a small buffer size. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
