PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of purifying chemical substance which can efficiently inactivate and eliminate endotoxin contained in chemical substances (a crude product) such as a medical polymer compound, and also can suppress decomposition of a desired chemical substance which may occur at the above process. SOLUTION: According to the purification method of the chemical substance, a crude product containing a chemical substance (a) as a main component, endotoxin (b) as an impurity, and a liquid material (c) which is insoluble to the chemical substance (a) are brought into contact under the basic conditions.
