PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing device and a method therefor where, in the production of a print pack for packing prints classified for every item, a stacked body of prints can be securely charged to a packing material. SOLUTION: The packing device comprises: a holding means for allowing a print insertion port in a print packing bag to open to the upper part and holding the print packing bag in a sagged state; a charging means for charging the print packing bag held by the holding means from the upper part of the print packing bag toward the print insertion port; and a supporting means for supporting the print packing bag from the lower part in a state where the lower end of the print packing bag held by the holding means so as to be sagged is raised upon the charging of the prints by the charging means.
