The invention relates to liquid oral compositions comprising a calcium compound and an acidulant, to a process of preparation, and also to uses thereof in food industry, particularly in non-alcoholic beverage industry and also in the pharmaceutic industry. According to the invention, in the compositions, the calcium content is present in the range of 0.3 and 0.55 moles per mole of acid, the ratio of calcium to the acidulant is selected so that pH of the composition is from 3.5 to 4.5. According to the invention, the process for preparing liquid compositions consists in adding a calcium compound to an acidulant so that the calcium amount and the pH be in the range of the above-mentioned values, the pH adjustment being made if desired or if necessary, by adding some alkali compounds. According to the invention, the liquid compositions are used for reducing tooth erosion caused by acid. |
