Shock protector (1) has a cover of essentially cylindrical shape made of flexible material. The cover has at least one through channel with one hole in which to put the air spout or jet breaker of the water tap (2) of a wash basin (3) and at least one second hole to release the water located opposite the first hole. The cover is designed to dampen and weaken shocks caused by objects or hands when the tap is being used. The flexible material used for the cover can be synthetic or natural rubber, plastic, foamed rubber or silicon.
