<p>A water or other fluid heating system (1) for a building comprises water or other fluid feed piping (2) located in an accommodation space (4) defined between a roof covering (3) of a building and a thermal barrier located beneath, and spaced from, the roof covering (3), whereby heat passing through the roof covering (3) is retained in the accommodation space (4), and heats the water or other fluid feed piping and the water or other fluid flowing through the piping (2).
