A portable terminal having a speaker is provided to include warm wheels equipped in the speaker and warm gears engaged with the warm wheel, thereby enabling a user to listen to high sound quality MP3(Moving Picture Experts Group Layer3) files by rotating the speaker equipped in the portable terminal in a desired direction. A rotary-type speaker of a portable terminal includes a rotating unit for rotating the speaker(115). The rotating unit includes warm wheels(132), which are equipped in the speaker(115), and warm gears(131), which are engaged with the warm wheels(132). The two speakers(115) are installed on both sides of the portable terminal. The rotating unit comprises the followings: the two warm wheels(132) which are equipped to the two speakers(115); the two warm gears(131) which are engaged with the two warm wheels(132); a rotating axis(133) which mutually connects the two warm gears(131) to be rotated with the same rotating center; and an operating wheel(134) of which a center part is connected to the rotating axis(133) to rotate the two warm gears(131).
