PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair for which a footrest is switched from a using position to a withdrawn position by the operation of pulling a wire-like member such as a cable or a cord-like member. SOLUTION: The wheelchair comprises a frame 1 for holding a sitting part 2 where a user sits, a traveling wheel 3 provided on the frame 1 so as to be rotated, and the footrest 4 provided on the frame 1 and switchable to the using position PA of supporting the legs of the user sitting in the sitting part 2 and the withdrawn position PB withdrawn from the using position PA. The wire-like member 6 is provided with a connection part 61 connected to the footrest 4 and an operation part 63 which can be operated by the user or a helper, and the footrest 4 is switched from the using position PA to the withdrawn position PB by the operation of pulling the operation part 63.
