A TV receiver for making an encyclopedia and a method therefor are provided to enhance the usefulness of the TV receiver by making the encyclopedia by using captured image information or various information. A storing unit(109) stores various image information, audio information, and text information, and stores a certain making encyclopedia. An image processing unit(107) outputs an inputted image signal on a screen(102), and captures the image outputted on the screen(102). A control unit(112) controls the image processing unit(107) to capture the image to be used as dictionary information, stores the image information captured by the image processing unit(107) in the storing unit(109), records the image information stored in the storing unit(109) in one page of the certain making encyclopedia, and controls to make the encyclopedia.
