<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas, which has excellent performance even after an endurance test at high temperature and the manufacturing cost of which is reduced by reducing the amount of a noble metal to be used therein and to provide a method for manufacturing the catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas, wherein the catalyst capable of keeping the reduced state of Rh even after the endurance test at high temperature can be manufactured easily. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst 1 for cleaning exhaust gas is manufactured by forming a plurality of catalyst layers (the first catalyst layer 3 and the second catalyst layer 4) on a base material 2. A Rh catalyst layer (the second catalyst layer 4) contains a carrier 5 consists mainly of zirconia, a Rh particle (a noble metal particle 6) supported on the carrier 5 and a binding member 7 which exists among carriers 5 and consists mainly of zirconia. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
