<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crime prevention sensor capable of monitoring only a security area with high accuracy without performing masking or the like and simultaneously acquiring distance information and size information of an intruding object in the security area, and miniaturized or the like and advantageous in cost. <P>SOLUTION: The crime prevention sensor comprises a distance image sensor capable of simultaneously measuring a distance to the intruding object existing in a projection area, and the size of the intruding object, and a determining means for determining only the intruding object within a distance threshold as an alarm object based on the distance information and size information of a distance image obtained by the distance image sensor, and an arbitrarily settable distance threshold. The determining means discriminates whether the intruding object is a human body or not and determines only an intruder as the alarm object.
