PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic dispensing device capable of determining the mounting state of a dispensing chip. SOLUTION: This automatic dispensing device 1 is equipped with a dispensing head 6, a transfer part 5, a detection part 19 and a circuit part 7. The dispensing head 6 has the dispensing chip 14 mounted thereon and performs suction and discharge of liquid. The transfer part 5 moves the dispensing head 6. The detection part 19 detects the mounting state of the dispensing chip 14 on the dispensing head 6. The circuit part 7 controls mounting of the dispensing chip 14 on the dispensing head 6, dismounting thereof from the dispensing head 6, suction and discharge of the liquid, and movement of the dispensing head 6 by the transfer part 5. In addition, the circuit part 7 allows the detection part 19 to detect the mounting state of the dispensing chip 14 in a plurality of times during a period from mounting of the dispensing chip 14 on the dispensing head 6 until dismounting of the dispensing chip 14 from the dispensing head 6.
