PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain constant contacting press fitting height of press fit terminals into a terminal hole even if there are variations in the thickness of a printed-circuit board. SOLUTION: This is a press fit method of a press fit terminal in which a plurality of press fit terminals arranged in a row holding the top end at the same height are pressed into terminal holes of a printed-circuit board or a bus bar and the elastic press fit part formed at the press fit terminals is made to contact the inner periphery face of the terminal holes and connected and fixed. One of the press fit terminal and the printed-circuit board or bus bar is made a fixed side and the other side is made a movable side and lifted or lowered to the fixed side, and the contacting position of the top end of the press fit terminal and the printed-circuit board or bus bar, or a position separated by a prescribed distance from the contacting position is made a reference position. A sensor is provided at the reference position and when it detects that the movable side reaches the reference position, the movable side is moved by a predetermined movement dimension from the detection position and made to stop, thereby, the press fit height of the press fit terminals into the terminal holes is maintained constant.
