PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently practically use relay performance of TCP connection established between SANs. SOLUTION: In this backup relay system, when a backup relay device 210 backs up data between the different SANs (storage area networks), the backup relay device 210 relays backup data through the TCP connection established on an IP network. The backup relay device has: a relay performance management part 2040 for measuring the relay performance of the TCP connection, and for requesting additional execution of the backup to a backup controller controlling the backup between the SANs when there is a margin in the relay performance; and a relay data scheduling part 2050 for distributing the relay performance of the TCP connection to the plurality of backups executed in parallel through the TCP connection according to an emergency degree of each backup.
