PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform scanning of excitation light over approximately the whole area of a section of a micro-passage without jutting out from the micro-passage, in a fluorescence detection device wherein the focal point of the excitation light scans on one section of the micro-passage at high speed by driving an objecting lens at high speed. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with: an operation circuit 30 for generating a reflecting surface detection signal showing that the focal point of laser light comes to the reflecting surface by operating a sensor signal from each detection surface of an optical sensor 19, and a reflected light quantity detection signal showing the light quantity of a reflected beam; and a control circuit 31 for driving and controlling a lens actuator 20 so that the focal point of the laser light is reciprocated between the bottom surface and the upper surface of the micro-passage 45 based on the reflecting surface detection signal, and driving and controlling the lens actuator 20 so that the focal point of the laser light is reciprocated between both side faces of the micro-passage 45 based on the reflected light quantity detection signal.
