PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a natural slope face by completely corroding plants after the plants take root in the slope face, by effectively seeding and planting the sloe face of various forms, and by surely preventing the leakage of cultivating earth filled between wooden plate materials over a long period. SOLUTION: This earth retaining implement for seeding and planting the slope face has a pair of wooden plate materials 1 cut in a shape of narrowing a width toward a tip 1B from a wide end 1A, a hinge 2 for connecting the wide end 1A of the pair of wooden plate materials 1 so as to be bent, and a connecting material 3 having both ends connected to an intermediate part between the wide end 1A and the tip 1B of the pair of wooden plate materials 1. The earth retaining implement is arranged on the slope face 15 in an attitude of positioning the wide end 1A under the slope face 15 and the tip 1B on the slope face 15 by connecting the pair of wooden plate materials 1 in a V shape of a predetermined opening by the connecting material 3. The earth retaining implement is also fixed to the slope face 15 by holding the wooden plate materials 1 in the predetermined opening by the connecting material 3 by embedding the connecting material 3 in the cultivating earth 16 filled between the pair of wooden plate materials 1.
