The device has a load-carrying portion (2) connected with a light module. Another load carrying portion (3) is connected with a casing, where the portion (3) is rotatably supported to the portion (2). A connection unit is formed at the portion (2) or the portion (3) so that the two portions are brought in a mounting position after arrangement of the portion (2) on the portion (3) by relative motion of the portion (2) to the portion (3). The two load carrying portions are rotatable relative to each other around the given rotational axis. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting a holding device.
