A method for calculating calories of food using a food image is provided to calculate the calories of the food in a mobile terminal by discriminating the food through the food image captured through a camera embedded in a mobile terminal. If a calorie calculation request signal is received, the food image is captured by a capturing operation of a user in a state that a camera unit is operated(201). The food is identified by comparing the captured food image with the food images stored in the mobile terminal(202). It is asked whether the food is correct or not by outputting a food image identification result, and an intake quantity of the food is received from the user(204). The total calories of the food are calculated based on the inputted intake food quantity(205). The total calories of the intake food quantity and calorie calculation time are displayed(206). |
