PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of selecting an opening in the linear scan inexpensively without using an expensive high-pressure resistant switch at a front end of the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus. SOLUTION: A transmission circuit 5 generates positive, zero and negative driving pulses. Diodes 3a, 3c, 3e and 3g connected in the forward direction select positive driving pulses and transmit the pulses to a plurality of vibrators constituting the transmission opening. Diodes 3b, 3d, 3f and 3h connected in the reverse direction select negative driving pulses and transmit the selected pulses to the plurality of vibrators constituting the transmission opening. A limiter and a low-pressure resistant switch 4 limit the amplitude of reflection signals received by a plurality of vibrators 2a-2h arrayed inside a probe 1, select signals of the plurality of vibrators constituting the transmission opening, and outputs the signals to a receiving circuit 6.
